GenBun holds first AMA
Last January 7, GenBun held its very first “Ask Me Anything” event. The AMA served as an avenue where our beloved community members learned more about the origin of GenBun, its goals and plans as well as its advocacy.
For starters, there was a short discussion on the basics of cryptocurrency and the exciting world of Non-Fungible Tokens or NFTs.
But “Why GenBun?” and “What’s with bunnies?” you may ask.
The team behind this project wanted something different yet relatable to the audience. Drawing from the innate cuteness of bunnies and the interesting mythology of Moon Rabbits, GenBun was born.
GenBun is a portmanteau for Generous Bunnies and Generation Bunnies, which makes it flexible when we release future collections with different utility cases. It is also a nod to the Japanese word, genbun, which means start of art.
GenBun, as an organization, aims to be at the forefront of the NFT development in SE Asia. But, GenBun, as a collection, is a set of 8888 unique and randomly-generated bunnies hosted in the Polygon Network. It’s main objective at this moment is to help different organizations with the strong presence and help of communities on different social issues from poverty & hunger, environment, education, and so forth.
The team is still working on its launch. Looking forward, community members can expect a newly launched website, charity voting, and an accelerator fund very soon. By the end of the year, GenBun will hold a physical gala (depending on the COVID situation) in Boracay, Philippines, wherein top HODLers will be invited. This will rotate around Southeast Asia with a plan on having the next in Bali.
GenBun will not confine itself to charities alone. Soon, GenBun will work towards being a crowdfunding platform that taps on the crypto world on Kickstarter and IndieGoGo. As GenBun values the insights of its community, its members will be consulted regarding this kind of partnership.
